 VERNACULAR  ARCHITECTURE BUILDING IN  MALAYSIA:


                                                       RUMAH GAJAH MENYUSU



                       For vernacular architecture building in Malaysia that I choose is traditional house, Rumah Gajah Menyusu, Long House roof that mostly we can found it at Negeri Pulau Pinang. This house can identified by the shape of roof. The main roof become the higher roof than other roof , the roof like an elephant being breastfeed this building was built before the arrival of the colonizers.

                       

        Characteristic of this house :

  1.  Built by using natural material as wood atap rumbia (thatch roof)
  2.  Have wood planks
  3.  Have a few wall pattern
  4.  Have ‘rumah tangga’ that is stair to go up inside the house.
  5.  High house floor
  6.  Joining wood by pegs and joints,no nails use
  7.  Have veranda or terrace






















                  


                  STATISTIC TEMPERATURE


  1.  There are very small variations between indoor and out door.
  2.  There are very small variations between indoor and outdoor temperature
  3.  Both indoor and outdoor temperatures are dictated by the direction of sunpath
  4.  Most indoor and outdoor temperatures have more than 28°C which is not under the ranges of ideal ‘comfort level’. The temperatures have only under the ranges of comfort level (25.5-28°C) from 6.00-9-9.00 am
  5.  The temperature barely reaches to 25.5°C. The lowest temperature is 27.3°C at 6.00 am

    CONCLUSION



                 Based on the description given bole we found that the Malay vernacular house is almost fulfilled all aspects of a building five major factors, in the context of the use of vernacular building carpentry course is taught from generation to generation. The design culture of ‘Perforated Perforation’ as a patterned wall was not forgotten until it was raised to be part of the structure of this house. In terms of climate, the design of this building is safe from high heat rates entering the house and is not affected by natural disasters such as floods, and even has good ventilation and comfortable for users, this is due to the knowledge of carpentry and a solid understanding of the basics of architecture. society and indeed evidenced by the produce of the house as well as material factors also play an important role where all the building materials are from the manufacture of wood found in the area of ​​the house.
